PNTHN is a 9-man rap collective determined to destroy hip-hop through ritualistic voodoo. Founded in March 2017 in Central Texas, PNTHN gained popularity by hosting DIY events because traditional venues kept their doors closed. In 2018 they gained international attention after dropping their first two EPs, POTLUCK and RICO, which have garnered over a million streams. The group has received widespread praise from publications like Pigeons and Planes, Pitchfork, Elevator, Lyrical Lemonade, Daily Chiefers, and more.
PNTHN brings its music to life on stage with unmatched energy that has taken them to cities across the country. In December 2018, they toured Texas with Freddie Gibbs. Just two months later, in February 2019, they completed an 8-show run with Vince Staples across Texas, Atlanta, and Florida. The tour ended at iii Points Festival in Miami, where they performed for thousands of new and old fans. In March, they played the Pigeons & Planes No Ceilings SXSW Showcase, the day after their P&P feature debuted. In April, they opened for Waka Flocka Flame at the University of Texas and Princess Nokia at Williams College, which followed a week in New York City to record their new album at Blast Off Studios. PNTHN brings the same energy to a foreign city as they did to the house and backyard shows in their hometown.
The group has sold out shows across the South and been streamed in over 65 countries, all while maintaining the independent, DIY principles that helped them break the surface.
