Dance/Pop duo VAVO comprises of Vancouver native Jesse Fischer and London born Alden Martin. Formed in 2015, the pair discovered their shared chemistry and decided to move forward as a duo.
Driven by the principle of “good music for all,” VAVO defied the concept of genres and saw their career reach new heights in 2017. Right off the bat, the duo released a remix of Martin Garrix’s “Scared To Be Lonely,” which was immediately crowned top 5 remixes by YourEDM and featured on Sirius XM’s BPM as a #betaBPM. To keep the momentum rolling, they released their first solo single “Ace of Spades” and then their reboot, “Astronomia 2K17.” “Astronomia 2K17” was a revamp of the classic
“Astronomia” by Tony Igy and quickly amassed millions of streams worldwide, charted on Spotify’s Top Viral 50 in six different countries, and found itself charting on multiple other platforms and charts as well. After being heavily supported by Tiesto, the duo was then invited to collaborate with producer John Christian to have a song featured on his Clublife Vol 5 Special Japan Edition album. Meanwhile, VAVO was also working on two remixes for Republic Records. One for “Just A Feeling” by Phantoms and one for “Kings And Queens Of Summer” by Matstubs. Showing their producing prowess, VAVO turned these two tracks into two highly regarded future house jams and watched them climb the charts on both Apple Music and iTunes as well.
Regarded as an “artist to watch in 2017” by sources like EDM Sauce, VAVO hit the studio and closed out the year with a guest mix on CLUBLIFE by Tiesto.
Heading into 2018, VAVO wanted to show the world that this will be an even bigger year. To kick it off, the duo released their single ‘How Low’ on Musical Freedom Records, which quickly landed the #2 spot on Beatport’s Top 100 Electro House Chart. As a result, they earned the support from dance music’s biggest names like David Guetta, Tiesto, and Nicky Romero. With momentum in their favor, VAVO began experimenting with new sounds and followed up with an official remix of Not A Love Song on Republic Records that ultimately got the attention of Sirius XM’s BPM. Proving this new sound successful, VAVO redefined their brand and saw their name grow significantly.
Now signed to KESS Records, VAVO released their first original in new direction called “Sleeping Alone.” With fans and tastemakers around the world taking well to this new direction, “Sleeping Alone” ended up becoming a BPM Breaker; the #1 Most Added Dance/EDM Song of The Week on Music Choice; charted highly on iTunes, Spotify, and Apple Music in countries all over the world; and most importantly, charted on Billboard’s Dance Radio/Mix Show Airplay Chart making it their Billboard chart debut.
With their current single “Right Now” proving it can be a hit in both the dance and pop world, VAVO has now set the stage to become a leader in the new generation of dance music artists. Be sure to be on the lookout for these two as 2019 rolls around.
